Terms of Service

1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to any individual who accesses or uses any platform within the Author Ecosystem, including visitors, waitlist subscribers, free users, and paid subscribers. By using our platforms, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.

If you are using a platform on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.

2. Description of services

The Author Ecosystem consists of three platforms serving indie authors:

• AuthorQR provides QR code creation, AI-assisted back-matter generation, book description writing, ad copy generation, and related reader engagement tools
• AuthorSignal provides author growth intelligence, catalog and reader behavior analytics, and AI-powered strategy recommendations through the Lumina intelligence layer
• Lumina (authorlumina.com) serves as the intelligence hub connecting the Author Ecosystem and provides early access waitlist registration

Features marked "coming soon" or "in development" are not yet available and are described for informational purposes only. We make no guarantee as to the timeline or final form of features not yet released.

3. Account registration and access

Some features of the Author Ecosystem require you to create an account. When you register, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, complete, and current information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, contain false information, or are used in ways that harm other users or the platforms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Author Ecosystem platforms only for lawful purposes and in ways consistent with these terms. You agree not to:

• Use the platforms to generate, distribute, or promote content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or fraudulent
• Use AI-powered tools to produce content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to access, probe, or test the security of our systems without authorization
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from any platform
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the platforms in ways not authorized by us
• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialize access to the platforms without written permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the platforms or the servers and networks connected to them
• Use the platforms in any way that could damage, disable, or impair their operation

5. AI-generated content

The Author Ecosystem uses artificial intelligence to help generate content including back matter, book descriptions, and ad copy. Regarding this content:

• You are responsible for reviewing and editing all AI-generated content before use
• We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is accurate, original, or free from errors
• You retain ownership of content you create using our tools, subject to the licenses described in Section 6
• We are not responsible for any claims arising from your use of AI-generated content, including claims of copyright infringement

AI capabilities are powered in part by Anthropic's Claude API. Use of AI features is subject to Anthropic's usage policies in addition to these terms.

6. Intellectual property

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit to or create using the Author Ecosystem platforms, including your book content, author information, and any content you input into our tools. By using our platforms, you grant On3World Source LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store your content solely to provide the services described.

Our platforms and content

The Author Ecosystem platforms, including their design, code, features, text, graphics, and branding, are owned by On3World Source LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of our platforms without written permission.

The names Lumina, AuthorQR, AuthorSignal, and Author Ecosystem are trademarks of On3World Source LLC. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to use our trademarks.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Certain features of the Author Ecosystem require a paid subscription. By subscribing:

• You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the rate shown at the time of purchase
• Subscription fees are billed in advance for each billing period
• Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms of service
• You are responsible for keeping your payment information current

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.

We reserve the right to modify pricing with at least 30 days notice. Continued use of a paid plan after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

8. Waitlist and early access

Joining the Lumina or AuthorSignal waitlist does not guarantee access, a specific launch date, or any particular pricing. Waitlist placement is not transferable. We reserve the right to manage waitlist access at our sole discretion.

9. Disclaimers

The Author Ecosystem platforms are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, On3World Source LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the platforms will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that the results obtained from using our platforms, including AI-generated content and analytics, will be accurate, reliable, or meet your specific requirements.

Author growth outcomes depend on many factors outside our control. Nothing in the Author Ecosystem constitutes a guarantee of publishing success, reader growth, or revenue.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, On3World Source LLC and its owners, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Author Ecosystem platforms, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the platforms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless On3World Source LLC and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platforms, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to any or all Author Ecosystem platforms at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

You may stop using the platforms at any time. If you have a paid subscription, cancellation is governed by Section 7.

Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, and 14 of these terms survive termination.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on our platforms. Your continued use of the Author Ecosystem after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which On3World Source LLC is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Author Ecosystem platforms will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation does not resolve the dispute within 30 days, the parties agree to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in English.

You agree that any dispute will be resolved on an individual basis and not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.
